Elijah the hairy Tishbite

Elijah bringing us the latest weather report!
Elijah - The hairy Tishbite, or as Ahab the king called him, "the troubler of Israel".  And he was trouble for Ahab and the false prophets of Baal.   God raised up Elijah during a time of spiritual decline.  Ahab's wife Jezebel had most of God's prophets killed and Elijah was constantly on the move.  He was a fiery man of faith who brought the Israelites to their knees when he prayed that it would not rain.  The sky became like bronze and there came a famine.  After three and a half years he prayed again.  His servant said, "Behold, a cloud as small as a man's hand is coming up out of the sea."

Diane Foss

I did this oil (16x20) of the Diane Foss tug in Valdez harbor in 1973.

Apologetica

This is an oil (16x20) of the 47' Skookum ketch by the name Apologetica which we lived aboard for five years while exploring the waters between Seattle and Alaska.  The view is near Baranof Hot Springs near Sitka, Alaska, June of 1997.

change zincs and clean up the bottom a bit.
